Today we pitched our two ideas to our tutors and peers.
Both our ideas were received well, however a majority of the class preferred our second pitch where we ask the public one question as oppose to the documentary about the young boy with cancer.
We were very surprised about this as we thought that most people would find the documentary about Jayden more interesting rather than the 'One Question' pitch.
However, we believe that this is mainly because we did not have any contact with Jayden's mum, Eleanor, at the point of pitching. Therefore, we had no permission from her and had not set up anything in regards of shooting.
As we are more passionate about the Jayden story we have decided that even though most of our peers preferred the other pitch, we are going to go through with this the Jayden idea. This is because we feel that he 'one question' idea has been done many times before, and if we followed our idea with Jayden, then we might be able to help make a difference to an important cause.
Since the pitch we have contacted Eleanor and she is really keen for us to make the documentary.
